This is the first book in the series of same name Blood and Ruin. This is kind of dark horror book with a great edgy plot, a psycho unhinged villain and an amazing sci-fi story line set in modern day New York.

Blurb
Witches, demons, shifters and humans all live under one rule.
King's.
What he says goes.
So, trying to get the hell out of here hasn’t been easy.
No one leaves without his permission.
In fact, no one leaves at all...That is, alive.
But I have a plan.
One chance to get out of this nightmare once and for all.
One month is all I need.
One month to stay off King's radar and get the last few items needed for the spell I’ve been working on.
Shouldn’t be that hard...right?
But turns out King has his own plan. One that involves trading me off to the five alphas of Manhattan.
With King's ultimatum, I have no choice but to go through with it. But I’m still getting out of here, no matter what.
Or so I thought.
Turns out the five alphas are my mates…
And also, the boys I left behind six years ago.

MY REVIEW
This first book in the Blood and Ruin series starts off with the main character's pov while she was a kid and her mother trying to take her and run. She doesn't know what is happening she is at the age where the only thing she cares about is her friends but something happens at that time and her mother dies leaving her all alone.

The story moves forward to the present where our FMC is all grown up and she is trying to run from her present. We still don't why exactly she is running. But as the story progress it became clear she has a special and rare power and she is under the clutches of someone very powerful and she is trying to run away from him and she is also saving someone else in the process.

Story progress further and some alpha hot men come into the scene and they try to help each other out without understanding or knowing that they all have deep connection to each other. The story and plot is all good and perfectly written until the very end when everything clicks together.

There are some very mature themes in the book and trigger warnings. Some scenes were really gruesome to read but on the whole the story is really great. there is a big ass plot twist at the end and now I am very much invested in the story. Totally recommend it.

A Critical Lens on 'Hunting Adeline' by H.D. Carlton: Exploring the Disturbing Themes | A Review

I kept delaying writing the review because I had to remember it and didn't want to do that. This 2nd book of Cat and Mouse duet is the story of a human trafficking survivor. This book is a huge  TRIGGER WARNING . Kindly proceed with caution. I even got traumatized after reading it. So to explain the synopsis; Adeline (the main character) got kidnapped at the end of the first book and sold to some people who groomed her for some very rich and powerful clients.  Almost half of the book is based on Adeline surviving the worst situations possible for a woman. Adeline had one advantage someone was fervently searching for her, and eventually, Zade managed to rescue her after four agonizing months. The scene when Zade finds her and she just could not believe it. She crumbled to her knees thinking she was hallucinating. After Zade brings her home she struggles so hard to process her trauma. She learns to fight to take control of her life. She gets close to her mother. She hates h...

On Wings of Blood by Briar Boleyn | A Review

What's Up, Readers!! Welcome to Quills and Pages. I just finished On Wings of Blood arc....and now I am here to write the review. the book is written by Briar Boleyn and Thank you to Netgally and the author for this arc. iSo, let's start the review BLURB I didn't sign up for this. A half-fae in a school of highblood vampires? That's a recipe for torment. I'm Medra Pendragon—last of the dragon riders, or so they tell me. Funny thing is, there are no dragons left. Not a single one. But somehow, that hasn't stopped the vampires from deciding I'm worth capturing. Now I'm stuck at Bloodwing Academy, where the highbloods run everything and blightborn like me? We're just blood in their veins, pawns in their games. But that's not even the worst part. Enter Blake Drakharrow. Cold, arrogant, and way too gorgeous for his own good. He's been tormenting me since the moment we met, and now, thanks to some ancient ritual, we're betrothed. He acts like h...

Plated Prisoner Series | A series review (Spoiler Alert!!!)

Have you ever stumbled upon a series that not only captures your imagination but also challenges the norms of classic narratives? Recently, I had the privilege of delving into the spellbinding world of the Plated Prisoner series, written by Raven Kennedy. If you haven't yet experienced this literary masterpiece, be prepared for a rollercoaster ride of intrigue, deception, and personal growth. Embark with me on a journey through the twists and turns of these books, where the conventional story of King Midas and his golden touch takes an unexpected and captivating turn. A Twist on a Classic Tale The foundation of the Plated Prisoner series rests upon the iconic figure of King Midas and his fabled golden touch. However, Kennedy masterfully introduces a twist; King Midas, rather than possessing the golden touch, is revealed to be a fraud, capitalizing on the real power held by this beautiful character Auren. Auren, with her genuine golden touch, becomes the linchpin of the plot as ...

Queen of Roses (Blood of Fae Trilogy) by Briar Boleyn | A Review into this Beautiful Fairytale Retelling

I just finished reading Queen of Roses. I found this book on Netgalley and requested to read and the author granted permission.  The book is written by Briar Boleyn . This is her TikTok . So it took some time for me to start reading the book series. The series consists of three books. I finished the first book so I thought let's write the review when it is fresh.  Let's dive into the synopsis. I will make sure to not spoil anything for you. The series is a retelling of the Legend of Arthur and Excalibur. the series focused on one character which is Morgan Pendrath; half sister of King Arthur; and also shown as half-Fae in the first book. King Arthur is the cruel king in this story, he also has a younger brother named Kaye is just a child who doesn't have a significant role in the first book but I am guessing in the coming books he is going to play some important part.  So, back to the story; Morgan is half Fey because her mother was full-blooded Fey and to hide her herit...

'The Never King' by Nikki St. Crowe | A Review

"The Never King" by  Nikki St. Crowe   is an incredibly absurd book. I mean, while reading it, I found myself perplexed, cringing, and wondering what on earth I was actually reading. These rollercoaster emotions I experienced throughout the book. The story revolves around Peter Pan and the Lost Boys, with Winnie, a member of the Darling family line, whose mother is clearly mentally unstable. Her mother's bizarre and neglectful behavior towards her is maddening. When Winnie turns 18, her mother's insanity escalates as she believes Peter Pan is coming to kidnap Winnie, and indeed, he does just that. He takes her to Neverland, where he inexplicably chains her to a bed and watches over her while she's unconscious. The frequent mention of Winnie being different from other Darlings without a clear explanation becomes rather tiresome. Meanwhile, Peter's shadow is lost, causing Neverland to wither slowly. So his main goal is to find his shadow and secure his power o...
