A dark romance "Scarred" by Emily McIntire is not that dark Afterall

So Last weekend I finished this book from the Never After series "Scarred" by Emily Mclntaire . So when I was searching for a book to read I found this on the Goodreads intro of the book: Scarred is a DARK Royal Romance and a complete standalone within The Never After Series (A series of fractured fairy tales inspired by our favorite villains). It is not a retelling or fantasy. It contains subject matter which may be triggering for some. Reader discretion is advised. I choose this book solely because it says it is a dark romance and also because of the cover (just look at the cover, it's breathtaking). I also found so many 5-star ratings so I thought why not give it a go.   So here are my thoughts after reading Scarred Spoiler Ahead:  It was not that dark after all.  The book was inspired by the lion king. The king's family is called the Faasa and there is a Scarred prince. The book was pretty much bland without any darkness or stuff. Maybe for some readers, it does

Falling Kingdoms by Morgan Rhodes | Review of Book 1

The book I discovered from Goodreads back in 2014 when I started reading. This is the first book I have ever read of Morgan Rhodes. This is a high fantasy genre with an amazing plot, political intrigue, epic magical powers, and awesome characters. the story revolves around 4 main characters... I have forgotten some stuff here. But I will do my best to give an honest review.  A little summary and viewpoint : This is a high fantasy genre with an amazing plot, political intrigue, epic magical powers, and awesome characters. the story revolves around 4 main characters two girls and two guys. The book was very fast-paced I was totally absorbed into the world and bam the book has finished. The royal characters are typical royal characters in the story. I like the character of Jonas and his little rebellion and whatever he is doing to survive in the realm. He is that character of the book with a tragic past and his life is filled with tragedy he is also doing something of value and focusing o

If you haven't yet experienced this literary masterpiece, be prepared for a rollercoaster ride of intrigue, deception, and personal growth. Embark with me on a journey through the twists and turns of these books, where the conventional story of King Midas and his golden touch takes an unexpected and captivating turn. A Twist on a Classic Tale The foundation of the Plated Prisoner series rests upon the iconic figure of King Midas and his fabled golden touch. However, Kennedy masterfully introduces a twist; King Midas, rather than possessing the golden touch, is revealed to be a fraud, capitalizing on the real power held by this beautiful character Auren. Auren, with her genuine golden touch, becomes the linchpin of the plot as
