Hot and Spicy Tales | My Take on 'Love Me Like You Do' by Minx Noir

This is another book I got from Netgalley. Love Me Like You Do is written by  Minx Noir . It's basically five books named  The Five Senses in the series that are combined under this title. I started reading this series quite late in December and finished just a day before yesterday. So here I am writing a detailed review.  GENRE  Contemporary Romance, Fiction THEME AND TONE 😅😅I don't know what tone it's called. LANGUAGE AND WRITING STYLE Easy to read CHARACTERS Likable characters TROPES ☙ FMC filed for Divorce because she is tired of her marriage. She thinks her husband doesn't love her anymore ☙ MMC formulates a plan to win her wife back. MY REVIEW 😅😅 This book is on another level of spicy. I read spice but this was too much for me..lol!!!.I skipped so many parts just because of that. Don't get me wrong I am not saying the book was not good. It was good like really good. 'All Part of the Soul' by Catherine Fearns Uncovers the Secrets of European Witch Trials

This book I got this from NetGalley. The book is written by Catherine Fearns  and I would like to thank the author and Netgalley for letting me read this book. This is historical fiction about the time when there were gruesome witch trials in Europe which led to the death of approximately 50,000 people mostly women. Many characters in the book are real but the main characters are fictional which is good because if they were real my heart wouldn't take it. GENRE Historical Fiction, About the Witch Trials in Europe THEME AND TONE Serious, Deep, Emotional LANGUAGE AND WRITING STYLE Easy to read CHARACTERS oh no...the main character Henry was okay in the start but later in the book I wanted to kill him myself. I wouldn't say there is character development...it is mostly like his true self came out in the end and it was not a good self. TROPES ☙ Historical Fiction ☙  MMC enamored with FMC ☙ MMC is a clueless prick ☙ FMC wrongly accused because of jilted MMC ☙ Witch Trials MY REVIE...

Heir of Fire Book 3 from Sarah J Maas | A Review

Heir of Fire is the third book in the Throne of Glass series. This book continues the story of Celaena Sardothien; Adarlan's Assassin; King's Champion and much more than she looks. This is the kind of book that takes you to faraway enchanting lands of Fae and you keep thinking about it all the time. GENRE High Fantasy, Young adult THEME AND TONE Adventurous, Mystery LANGUAGE AND WRITING STYLE Easy to read CHARACTERS Likable and multilayered character TROPES ☙ High Fantasy Magical World ☙  Enemies to Friends (sort of) ☙ Fighting your inner power and inner demons ☙ Emotional and Physical Scars ☙  Alpha hero and extra Alpha heroine ☙  Love/Hate ☙  Forced proximity MY REVIEW We find out in the last book who Celaena actually is. In this book, she is off to a faraway land on a King's secret mission. There she gets as low as can be with self-loathing and no care of the world. Her relationship with Chaol is damaged to extreme points. And she is struggling to accept the fact...

Caraval by Stephanie Garber Takes the Crown as My Ultimate Literary Delight!

This book is my all-time favorite one. I read it instantly when it came out in 2017 and then I waited for so long for the whole series to be completed to read it again. And here this year finally I have come around to reading the book series. currently, I am reading the second book. I thought let's write a review for the first one so I don't forget the feelings and emotions it stirred within me. Here is the description of the book; Welcome to Caraval, where nothing is quite what it seems.. Scarlett has never left the tiny isle of Trisda, pining from afar for the wonder of Caraval, a once-a-year week-long performance where the audience participates in the show. Caraval is Magic. Mystery. Adventure. And for Scarlett and her beloved sister Tella it represents freedom and an escape from their ruthless, abusive father. When the sisters' long-awaited invitations to Caraval finally arrive, it seems their dreams have come true. But no sooner have they arrived than Tella vanishes, k...

A Dark Book with the dark ending | A Review of Fairy Tales From the Underworld Part 1 by L.C Moon

I got this arc from Netgalley. This book is the first in the series named   Fairy Tales From the Underworld #1 . It is written by L.C. Moon . The book was dark and gripping and I read it in one sitting 😅 which says something about the book. And would you look at the book cover....I loved it.  Here is the Goodreads description of the book; This is not a romance, but it is a love story. In A Bedtime Story, L.C. Moon invites readers into a somber fairy tale, where the beasts and monsters inhabit its protagonists, whispering over their shoulders. This is not a romance, but a raw and psychologically driven erotic tale, exploring themes of trauma and identity through the twisted love story of two profoundly broken souls. Laura Spencer was a child of the moon, resilient yet delicate, using fantasies to escape her harsh reality. Kayne Malkin was a child of the underworld, molded into becoming a formidable predator and ruthless member of the Russian Mafia. Their paths, never meant...

Crown of Midnight Book 2 in Throne of Glass series | A Review

Crown of Midnigh t is the second book in the series of Throne of Glass . The story continues further in this book. Our Celaena is now the King's assassin and she is working and earning a lot. She is buying expensive stuff and lots and lots of books. The love triangle between Dorian, Celaena, and Chaol has ended because Cealena has made her choice; Nehemia and Caleane's friendship is going strong; and Now other things are happening that need our attention 😅😂.  Here is the Goodreads description of the book; "A line that should never be crossed is about to be breached. It puts this entire castle in jeopardy—and the life of your friend." From the throne of glass rules a king with a fist of iron and a soul as black as pitch. Assassin Celaena Sardothien won a brutal contest to become his Champion. Yet Celaena is far from loyal to the crown. She hides her secret vigilantly; she knows that the man she serves is bent on evil. Keeping up the deadly charade becomes increasingl...

Unpacking the Wonders of Skylight written by Patchree Jones - A Middlegrade Must-Read

Skylight is written by Patchree Jones . I got this arc from Netgalley . I requested the book solely because of the cover. Can you see it...it's sooo beautiful and whimsy. The colors and the artwork are amazing. But when I started reading the book it took me back to my childhood when my father used to bring me this kid's magazine Naunehal (very popular in my country). There used to be some amazing epic high fantasy stories in the magazine and this book reminded me of those stories. I am very thankful to both Netgalley and Patchree for allowing me to read this amazing book. Here is the Goodreads description of this book; For fans of ARU SHAH and Hayao Miyazaki's LAPUTA, CASTLE IN THE SKY, this middle-grade novel welcomes you to an immersive Thai fantasy where twelve-year-old best friends, Sofia and Cara, explore the boundaries of family, friendship, and how to be strong in a world that wants to use you. Five-foot-eight and only in the seventh grade, Sofia Luana is used to b...

A Critical Lens on 'Hunting Adeline' by H.D. Carlton: Exploring the Disturbing Themes | A Review

I kept delaying writing the review because I had to remember it and didn't want to do that. This 2nd book of Cat and Mouse duet is the story of a human trafficking survivor. This book is a huge  TRIGGER WARNING . Kindly proceed with caution. I even got traumatized after reading it. So to explain the synopsis; Adeline (the main character) got kidnapped at the end of the first book and sold to some people who groomed her for some very rich and powerful clients.  Almost half of the book is based on Adeline surviving the worst situations possible for a woman. Adeline had one advantage someone was fervently searching for her, and eventually, Zade managed to rescue her after four agonizing months. The scene when Zade finds her and she just could not believe it. She crumbled to her knees thinking she was hallucinating. After Zade brings her home she struggles so hard to process her trauma. She learns to fight to take control of her life. She gets close to her mother. She hates h...

I started reading this book because of the audiobook of the third in the Myths of Airren series written by Jenny Hickman . I got the audiobook from Netgalley and wanted to read the first book first. This book was really amazing.  GENRE Romantasy, Fantasy THEME AND TONE The tone is quite beautiful. The start of the book was gripping. I started reading it and couldn't put it down. LANGUAGE AND WRITING STYLE Easy to read  CHARACTERS Mysterious, Morally grey MMC Goody two shoes FMC (not that good but she was a good girl with her own standards of morality) TROPES ☙ Our Hero is Morally grey and he is just ❤😅 ☙ Enemies to Lovers ☙ Magical  Curses ☙ Magical  beings and Species. ☙ Forced Proximity ☙ Slow Burn ☙ FMC is on a quest to save her sister MY REVIEW Okay SO started reading this book in the last week of December and I got sidetracked by work and other duties. The Bond That Burns by Briar Boleyn | A Review

What's Up, Readers!! Welcome to Quills and Pages. I finally got myself to sit down to write this review for the second book of Bloodwing Academy series. Today is a good day because it's cloudy and windy with a chance of slight rain....and nothing puts my mood better than a chance of rain and wind. anyway let's get started!! BLURB At Bloodwing Academy, blood is currency, but a dragon's legacy is priceless–and as dangerous as fire. I thought surviving my first year in Bloodwing's deadly halls would be enough. I was wrong. I accidentally woke a dragon–a creature of myth, of death, of fire. Now every highblood house wants control over me and the dragon's legacy I carry. But here's the I have no control. I'm bluffing my way through every encounter, trying to keep everyone from realizing that I'm not the one pulling the dragon's strings. And then there's Blake Drakharrow. I thought he was on my side, that I might even be able to trust him. But he b...

On Wings of Blood by Briar Boleyn | A Review

What's Up, Readers!! Welcome to Quills and Pages. I just finished On Wings of Blood arc....and now I am here to write the review. the book is written by Briar Boleyn and Thank you to Netgally and the author for this arc. iSo, let's start the review BLURB I didn't sign up for this. A half-fae in a school of highblood vampires? That's a recipe for torment. I'm Medra Pendragon—last of the dragon riders, or so they tell me. Funny thing is, there are no dragons left. Not a single one. But somehow, that hasn't stopped the vampires from deciding I'm worth capturing. Now I'm stuck at Bloodwing Academy, where the highbloods run everything and blightborn like me? We're just blood in their veins, pawns in their games. But that's not even the worst part. Enter Blake Drakharrow. Cold, arrogant, and way too gorgeous for his own good. He's been tormenting me since the moment we met, and now, thanks to some ancient ritual, we're betrothed. He acts like h...
