Ruining Dahlia by C. R. Jane | A Book Review

I have no idea how I found this book...I just know that found it......I was searching for something else and I found some quotes from this book somewhere.....I don't even remember which social platform that was Insta or Tiktok....anyway. Long story short I read the quotes and I was like I had to read this book. I bought it and started reading it. This is written by C.R. Jane...this is the 3rd book in the Mafia Wars series and you can read it as standalone.   here is the description of the book;

GENRE

MY REVIEW
I usually do not like reading Mafia romances because tbh authors make them something else. In this book author does the same ....lol. But the difference is that I liked how seamlessly the book is written. Every character had layers. They are all bound because of their individual experiences in their traumatic past. Their past made them who they are and how they struggle to overcome that and how they help each other to get out of their head.

I liked how the story starts the interaction between Dahlia and Raphael. How Dahlia gets triggered by her trauma and tangle with Raphael. After she finds out about his reality she was mortified. I was laughing my ass off on that scene.

I liked Dahlia's dynamic with each of the characters. Dahlia and Raphael were fire, Dahlia with Lucien is like someone who owns your soul, and Dahlia with Gabriel is like best friend forever. Let's go into details of how I viewed each character; Lucien is a stubborn cold asshole, Raphael is the mischievous devil who never stops stirring trouble and Gabriel gave the vibes of a smitten golden retriever. Lol!!! I know how this sounds. But you gotta read this book to understand their personalities.

On the whole, I liked the book. I was waiting for something tragic to happen at the end. Well, tragedy happens but the scale was low. I was waiting for a full-blown disaster that no character can handle but it was not like that and I think I am okay with it. I will recommend reading this book. It's a 4-star from me.

Tiktok made me read it | My Fault | Culpa Mia (Culpable 1)

This line is fire... How did I fall? Easy. He turned my world upside down My Fault is the book I found out from TikTok. I watched the movie first and then I thought why not give it a read. This review aims to provide insight into the book and the movie adaptation. I will analyze the plot, characters, and writing style, and give an overall rating. It will assist you in deciding whether to indulge in the book the movie or both. "My Fault" written by Mercedes Ron is a captivating book that tells the story of a love-hate relationship between Noah and Nick. This book has been adapted into a movie that has caught the attention of many romance enthusiasts.  I was surprised to find out that the book is very well written as many books that go viral on TikTok are not really well written. there were no plot holes, no dragging, simple and steady storyline.  The story centers around Noah and Nick who are step-siblings and both are grappling with personal demons. Noah is dealing ...

A Critical Lens on 'Hunting Adeline' by H.D. Carlton: Exploring the Disturbing Themes | A Review

I kept delaying writing the review because I had to remember it and didn't want to do that. This 2nd book of Cat and Mouse duet is the story of a human trafficking survivor. This book is a huge  TRIGGER WARNING . Kindly proceed with caution. I even got traumatized after reading it. So to explain the synopsis; Adeline (the main character) got kidnapped at the end of the first book and sold to some people who groomed her for some very rich and powerful clients.  Almost half of the book is based on Adeline surviving the worst situations possible for a woman. Adeline had one advantage someone was fervently searching for her, and eventually, Zade managed to rescue her after four agonizing months. The scene when Zade finds her and she just could not believe it. She crumbled to her knees thinking she was hallucinating. After Zade brings her home she struggles so hard to process her trauma. She learns to fight to take control of her life. She gets close to her mother. She hates h...

Plated Prisoner Series | A series review (Spoiler Alert!!!)

  Have you ever stumbled upon a series that not only captures your imagination but also challenges the norms of classic narratives? Recently, I had the privilege of delving into the spellbinding world of the Plated Prisoner series, written by Raven Kennedy. If you haven't yet experienced this literary masterpiece, be prepared for a rollercoaster ride of intrigue, deception, and personal growth. Embark with me on a journey through the twists and turns of these books, where the conventional story of King Midas and his golden touch takes an unexpected and captivating turn. A Twist on a Classic Tale The foundation of the Plated Prisoner series rests upon the iconic figure of King Midas and his fabled golden touch. However, Kennedy masterfully introduces a twist; King Midas, rather than possessing the golden touch, is revealed to be a fraud, capitalizing on the real power held by this beautiful character Auren. Auren, with her genuine golden touch, becomes the linchpin of the plot as ...

On Wings of Blood by Briar Boleyn | A Review

What's Up, Readers!! Welcome to Quills and Pages. I just finished On Wings of Blood arc....and now I am here to write the review. the book is written by Briar Boleyn and Thank you to Netgally and the author for this arc. iSo, let's start the review BLURB I didn't sign up for this. A half-fae in a school of highblood vampires? That's a recipe for torment. I'm Medra Pendragon—last of the dragon riders, or so they tell me. Funny thing is, there are no dragons left. Not a single one. But somehow, that hasn't stopped the vampires from deciding I'm worth capturing. Now I'm stuck at Bloodwing Academy, where the highbloods run everything and blightborn like me? We're just blood in their veins, pawns in their games. But that's not even the worst part. Enter Blake Drakharrow. Cold, arrogant, and way too gorgeous for his own good. He's been tormenting me since the moment we met, and now, thanks to some ancient ritual, we're betrothed. He acts like h...
