House of the Dragon Episode 2 Rhaenyra the Cruel | A Review and Key Takeaways

Rhaenyra the Cruel

After Blood and Cheese incident there is chaos everywhere in king's landing and Dragonstone. Aegon is angry, Queen Helaena is in grief, Aemond is planning. Rhaenyra finds out that Daemon ordered the hit and she started blaming him that he put her position in jeopardy. Ser Criston Cole is always the annoying airhead blaming others for his stupidity

MY REVIEW

King's Landing

Stills from House of the dragon featuring queens

There is a funeral organized for Prince Jaehaerys Targaryen (Son of Aegon the second). The scene was phenomenal with awesome acting from Phia Saban as Queen Helaena

Stills from House of the dragon featuring otto Hightower

Aegon has hanged the Rat Catchers and displayed their bodies on the wall which made Otto Hightower angry because ever the political he thought it was an unwise move. So he yells at Aegon, some heated words are exchanged and finally the truth comes out....King Viserys was right abut Aegon. Aegon said he made me king and Otto replies "Is that what you think"; which means Otto knew that king has never changed his mind about Rhaenyra being the heir. And it is proving my analysis that Alicent is such a moron😅.

Stills from House of the dragon featuring Cristin cole and Erryk cargyll

Also Sir Cristin Cole picking a  fight with Ser Arryk Cargyll and blaming him for negligence which he himself committed because he was too busy with Alicent Hightower. I hate this character with passion because he is the reddest of red flag. Such Men Alicent surrounds herself with. I mean he is crossing all his lines while claiming he is the most loyal and most honorable being ever graced this earth.

There is another peak into Aemond's character about how he feels what he did to Luke. He regrets it and he is sorry but now it is done he cannot go back to the way it was. The war is already escalated and he won't avoid it.

Dragonstone

Rhaenyra and Daemon has a fight about the move Daemon made and Rhaenyra blames him about all the other things he did in the past...And Daemon got angry and leaves. My analysis of this situation is that Daemon is not at fault here Rhaenyra is. She does forget they are at war and it's not Daemon's fault that Blood and Cheese were idiots. Daemon do try to explain it to Rhaenyra but just like her father he misunderstood him. What I think is that Rhaenyra is being an  airhead at this time. She is getting too emotional she should know they are at war. and casualties happens even the ones they don't want.
Still from House of the dragon featuring Mysaria
After Daemon leaves Ser Arryk Cargyll  reach Dragonstone and recognized by Mysaria. So she comes back to castle with ser Erryk Cargyll and both have a face off resulting in both of their deaths. One was trying to kill Rhaenyra and one was trying to save her.  Again Cole being ana airhead for starting this mission in motion. Mysaria has an important role to play in the coming episodes and in this one. she saves

Driftmark

Stills frpm House of the dragon featuring Alyn and adam

Alyn has come back from a voyage and is met with his brother on the docks of Driftmark and there it is another entry of a character who is going to be important in the war. If you don't know who Alyn is , he is the bastard son of Lord Corlys Velaryon

MY RATING
Overall: ★★★| 3 Stars
Plot: ★★★ | 3 Stars

A Critical Lens on 'Hunting Adeline' by H.D. Carlton: Exploring the Disturbing Themes | A Review

I kept delaying writing the review because I had to remember it and didn't want to do that. This 2nd book of Cat and Mouse duet is the story of a human trafficking survivor. This book is a huge  TRIGGER WARNING . Kindly proceed with caution. I even got traumatized after reading it. So to explain the synopsis; Adeline (the main character) got kidnapped at the end of the first book and sold to some people who groomed her for some very rich and powerful clients.  Almost half of the book is based on Adeline surviving the worst situations possible for a woman. Adeline had one advantage someone was fervently searching for her, and eventually, Zade managed to rescue her after four agonizing months. The scene when Zade finds her and she just could not believe it. She crumbled to her knees thinking she was hallucinating. After Zade brings her home she struggles so hard to process her trauma. She learns to fight to take control of her life. She gets close to her mother. She hates h...

On Wings of Blood by Briar Boleyn | A Review

What's Up, Readers!! Welcome to Quills and Pages. I just finished On Wings of Blood arc....and now I am here to write the review. the book is written by Briar Boleyn and Thank you to Netgally and the author for this arc. iSo, let's start the review BLURB I didn't sign up for this. A half-fae in a school of highblood vampires? That's a recipe for torment. I'm Medra Pendragon—last of the dragon riders, or so they tell me. Funny thing is, there are no dragons left. Not a single one. But somehow, that hasn't stopped the vampires from deciding I'm worth capturing. Now I'm stuck at Bloodwing Academy, where the highbloods run everything and blightborn like me? We're just blood in their veins, pawns in their games. But that's not even the worst part. Enter Blake Drakharrow. Cold, arrogant, and way too gorgeous for his own good. He's been tormenting me since the moment we met, and now, thanks to some ancient ritual, we're betrothed. He acts like h...

The Bond That Burns by Briar Boleyn | A Review

What's Up, Readers!! Welcome to Quills and Pages. I finally got myself to sit down to write this review for the second book of Bloodwing Academy series. Today is a good day because it's cloudy and windy with a chance of slight rain....and nothing puts my mood better than a chance of rain and wind. anyway let's get started!! BLURB At Bloodwing Academy, blood is currency, but a dragon's legacy is priceless–and as dangerous as fire. I thought surviving my first year in Bloodwing's deadly halls would be enough. I was wrong. I accidentally woke a dragon–a creature of myth, of death, of fire. Now every highblood house wants control over me and the dragon's legacy I carry. But here's the I have no control. I'm bluffing my way through every encounter, trying to keep everyone from realizing that I'm not the one pulling the dragon's strings. And then there's Blake Drakharrow. I thought he was on my side, that I might even be able to trust him. But he b...

Jenny Hickman's 'A Cursed Kiss': A Love Story Wrapped in Magic and Curses - Are You Up for the Ride?

'The Never King' by Nikki St. Crowe | A Review

"The Never King" by  Nikki St. Crowe   is an incredibly absurd book. I mean, while reading it, I found myself perplexed, cringing, and wondering what on earth I was actually reading. These rollercoaster emotions I experienced throughout the book. The story revolves around Peter Pan and the Lost Boys, with Winnie, a member of the Darling family line, whose mother is clearly mentally unstable. Her mother's bizarre and neglectful behavior towards her is maddening. When Winnie turns 18, her mother's insanity escalates as she believes Peter Pan is coming to kidnap Winnie, and indeed, he does just that. He takes her to Neverland, where he inexplicably chains her to a bed and watches over her while she's unconscious. The frequent mention of Winnie being different from other Darlings without a clear explanation becomes rather tiresome. Meanwhile, Peter's shadow is lost, causing Neverland to wither slowly. So his main goal is to find his shadow and secure his power o...
