Fading Stars Blog Post Featured Banner

Hi Readers!!!!
Welcome to Quills and Pages. This is Quills and it's 3:00 am and I am wide awake thinking about these characters I just read in this arc. The author is Marisa Kazwey and the book is Fading Stars. I finished this book some time ago but was not ready to write a review. Today I finally made myself to sit and write and here I am.

BLURB

Stars hold the power to rewrite a destiny.

Neveah lives for them, counting down the days until the awe-inspiring return of Halley's Comet. At 16, she dreams of becoming an astrophysicist, her passion ignited by her grandmother who had passed away.

Yohan, on the other hand, is a shadow of his former self. Once a good kid, he became withdrawn and distant after a tragic event. Yohan grapples with guilt and a deep-seated desire for redemption, even contemplating ending his own life.

Their worlds collide when Neveah forms a club. Under the watchful eye of the returning comet, an unlikely connection blossoms between them. Together, Neveah and Yohan embark on a healing journey, discovering that sometimes, the light of one star can illuminate the darkest of paths.

But what do you do when the stars start to fade?

MY REVIEW
First of all thank you to the author for providing me the arc. Let's start with the review. I will be honest and I won't spoil. So, it was difficult for me to get into the story because there was some issues with my eyesight and I had difficulty reading for long time. I switched to audio but it was also not working for me because the text was not properly in shape (because it was an arc and kind of unfinished). Anyway I forced my self to just start it and I got halfway to the book then I finally understood what was happening.

The story revolves around Yohan and Nev(Neveah). They were classmates and Nev kind of bullied him (in a kind way) to join their club that focuses on Astrophysics and all things space.

Yohan is the grumpy mysterious guy who is quiet and broody all the time. Something tragic happened in his past that made him this way and Nev took the challenge to cheer him up and their interaction were cute and very wholesome. It was a joy to read their exchanges and how Yohan started coming out of his shell.

Nev is a sunshine and just an amazing character. She is so full of life and passion. She is obsessed with stars and wanted to start the club and for that they need to complete the number so school admin could approve of it. She also has a problem with her eye sight (a kind of glaucoma) which is fading slowly and doctors predict that she might go blind sometime in the future. So she is also struggling with that along with things happening with her boyfriend Atlas.

The story is pretty amazing. It kinds of gives the vibe of A Walk to Remember and Fault In Our Stars. But their are tragic elements in the story that wouldn't let me sleep. I could not digest the fact how the story ended. One minute I wish it should not end this way and the next moment I would say some stories has to have an ending like this. We all need a good heartbreak from time to time. Anyway the book is really good. I would definitely recommend it. Read it this fall I am telling you and keep a box of tissues with you.

What's Up, Readers!! Welcome to Quills and Pages. I just finished On Wings of Blood arc....and now I am here to write the review. the book is written by Briar Boleyn and Thank you to Netgally and the author for this arc. iSo, let's start the review BLURB I didn't sign up for this. A half-fae in a school of highblood vampires? That's a recipe for torment. I'm Medra Pendragon—last of the dragon riders, or so they tell me. Funny thing is, there are no dragons left. Not a single one. But somehow, that hasn't stopped the vampires from deciding I'm worth capturing. Now I'm stuck at Bloodwing Academy, where the highbloods run everything and blightborn like me? We're just blood in their veins, pawns in their games. But that's not even the worst part. Enter Blake Drakharrow. Cold, arrogant, and way too gorgeous for his own good. He's been tormenting me since the moment we met, and now, thanks to some ancient ritual, we're betrothed. He acts like h...

A Critical Lens on 'Hunting Adeline' by H.D. Carlton: Exploring the Disturbing Themes | A Review

I kept delaying writing the review because I had to remember it and didn't want to do that. This 2nd book of Cat and Mouse duet is the story of a human trafficking survivor. This book is a huge  TRIGGER WARNING . Kindly proceed with caution. I even got traumatized after reading it. So to explain the synopsis; Adeline (the main character) got kidnapped at the end of the first book and sold to some people who groomed her for some very rich and powerful clients.  Almost half of the book is based on Adeline surviving the worst situations possible for a woman. Adeline had one advantage someone was fervently searching for her, and eventually, Zade managed to rescue her after four agonizing months. The scene when Zade finds her and she just could not believe it. She crumbled to her knees thinking she was hallucinating. After Zade brings her home she struggles so hard to process her trauma. She learns to fight to take control of her life. She gets close to her mother. She hates h...

Where is Molly by H.D Carlton | A Review

Where is Molly is a stand alone book written by H.D Carlton. It is set in the Universe of Haunting Adeline. The story revolves around Molly...the girl we found in Hunting Adeline. Her diary was founded by Adeline under the floor and us readers always wanted to know if she succeeded in running away from that awful place.  Blurb A spinoff of the Cat & Mouse Duet... “Molly Devereaux has been missing for more than two weeks, and police are still searching for the girl who seemed to vanish out of thin air. The world still wants to know... Where's Molly?” In my dreams, I never escaped the Oregon woods. Life after death isn't easy to accept, especially when I still feel like a ghost. Now, I live deep in the mountains of Montana—the paradigm of beauty. But they are also the home of horrors. Horrors that I only unleash at night. When my pigs are allowed to feast. It is strongly recommended to read Haunting Adeline and Hunting Adeline before reading Where's Molly. Important No...

Tiktok made me read it | My Fault | Culpa Mia (Culpable 1)

This line is fire... How did I fall? Easy. He turned my world upside down My Fault is the book I found out from TikTok. I watched the movie first and then I thought why not give it a read. This review aims to provide insight into the book and the movie adaptation. I will analyze the plot, characters, and writing style, and give an overall rating. It will assist you in deciding whether to indulge in the book the movie or both. "My Fault" written by Mercedes Ron is a captivating book that tells the story of a love-hate relationship between Noah and Nick. This book has been adapted into a movie that has caught the attention of many romance enthusiasts.  I was surprised to find out that the book is very well written as many books that go viral on TikTok are not really well written. there were no plot holes, no dragging, simple and steady storyline.  The story centers around Noah and Nick who are step-siblings and both are grappling with personal demons. Noah is dealing ...
