5 eBooks to Download and Devour on Read an eBook Day

read an ebook day featured blog post banner

Today is read an ebook day. To go a little bit into history this day was first started in 2014 by an ebook distributor Overdrive. It was first started to encourage people to read on their electronic devices. I think I understand the need to encourage reading on devices because it is convenient and many people cannot afford paperbacks or hardbacks. One more reason is many books are not available in every country in physical form. I know this because a lot of books are not available in my country and they are very much popular in US. So for people like me, reading ebooks comes in handy. We can read a book on the same day it is published and reading a book on tablets, mobiles or kindle is way faster than reading a paperback or hardback (personal experience 😅)

So today, I curated a very special list of books for you to read if you are still undecided about what to pick. This list includes Romantasy, Cozy Fantasy, and a highly emotional book that might break your heart. So pick one and dive into these amazing beautiful worlds....

1. Blood Of The Sands
Blurb
Keera is used to protecting herself from the dangers of the Ballan desert. Guarding her heart may be the most difficult challenge of all. Keera is an exile struggling to survive, forced to rob passing travelers or face starvation. When she steals from the wrong man—a vicious masked warrior named the Viper—his hand around her throat awakens an ancient magic within her, and she uses it to escape his clutches. Now, Keera must master her power to protect the city of Kelvadan—the only place an exile like her can find a home—from the Viper and his growing army.
The Viper serves the magic of the desert, but the sins of the past threaten to destroy it. To protect his home, he will do everything it takes, even marching on the great city of Kelvadan. However, the real key to healing the desert’s magic might lie in the infuriating but intriguing exile who slipped through his fingers and now fights for his sworn enemies.
Keera and the Viper are on opposite sides of a war to save the Ballan desert, but the strange bond they share could be the key to saving their home—or destroying their world as they know it.

3. House of Fang and Deceit
Blurb

The fae are gone and the monsters reign.

I am Samara Harker, and ruling is in my blood. As the Heir to House Harker, I’ve spent my life preparing for the union with another House’s Heir. The plan was simple: My future husband and I would jointly govern his House, and I’d fortify the delicate bonds between the Moroi Houses, Velesian Packs, and what remained of the Furies.

No one feels the weight of disappointment more than I do when my carefully orchestrated marriage and life crumble into ruins. After enduring betrayal and humiliation, I find myself forced to retreat to House Harker.

Returning home means encountering both old friends and adversaries. But things have shifted since my youth. In those days, I was promised to another. Now, I’m unshackled, free to pursue whatever—or whoever—my heart craves.

Unfortunately, my desire might have to wait. Because the monsters lurking in the shadows are growing stronger by the day… and my own people are helping them.

4. The Modern Girl's Guide to Magic

Blurb
So here’s the deal—I’m a magical disaster. A witch from a family of witches, and the only one whose magic blows up in her face. Which is why I came up with my rules…

1. Never get involved with magic

2. If you must get involved, do not enter a competition to win the biggest magical fortune in England

3. And definitely don't fall for Callan Hawthorne, the sexy billionaire mage who you've hated for years

So how the heck do I end up in a situation that promises to break all those rules? It's the only way to save Seaside Spells, my family’s magical potion shop.

But it’s cool. When I go back home to Charming Cove—a village of ancient pubs and foul-mouthed familiars—I will totally ignore Witch Weekly’s Sexiest Man of the Year. I’ll win the competition, and if I’m lucky, I won’t turn myself into a toad in the process.

This'll be fine. It’ll all be fine.

Riiiight.

5. Fangs and Frenemies

Blurb
A quirky genius bobcat shifter.

A sassy ex-cheerleading vampire.

A sweet—but slightly neurotic—cupcake-baking witch.

They fight crime.

Hazel Greenwood’s magical career and love life are finally looking up at twenty-eight. Take that, shallow Beige Witch mom and sisters -- and everyone else who ever made her feel like an outcast, just because she inherited Granny Sage's powerful Green Magic!

But when a mean girl from the past goes missing, Hazel’s suddenly thrown back into old high school dramas, romantic rivalries, and angst. To clear each other's names, three supernatural frenemies must set aside ancient grudges and learn to trust each other.

Because in the cozy, windswept village of Blue Moon Bay, Oregon, nearly everyone’s guarding a secret. And they all involve magic. Will these three women, who usually can't stand each other, finally bond while cracking the mystery —or are they cursed to fail?

A Critical Lens on 'Hunting Adeline' by H.D. Carlton: Exploring the Disturbing Themes | A Review

I kept delaying writing the review because I had to remember it and didn't want to do that. This 2nd book of Cat and Mouse duet is the story of a human trafficking survivor. This book is a huge  TRIGGER WARNING . Kindly proceed with caution. I even got traumatized after reading it. So to explain the synopsis; Adeline (the main character) got kidnapped at the end of the first book and sold to some people who groomed her for some very rich and powerful clients.  Almost half of the book is based on Adeline surviving the worst situations possible for a woman. Adeline had one advantage someone was fervently searching for her, and eventually, Zade managed to rescue her after four agonizing months. The scene when Zade finds her and she just could not believe it. She crumbled to her knees thinking she was hallucinating. After Zade brings her home she struggles so hard to process her trauma. She learns to fight to take control of her life. She gets close to her mother. She hates h...

A half-fae in a school of highblood vampires? That's a recipe for torment. I'm Medra Pendragon—last of the dragon riders, or so they tell me. Funny thing is, there are no dragons left. Not a single one. But somehow, that hasn't stopped the vampires from deciding I'm worth capturing. Now I'm stuck at Bloodwing Academy, where the highbloods run everything and blightborn like me? We're just blood in their veins, pawns in their games. But that's not even the worst part. Enter Blake Drakharrow. Cold, arrogant, and way too gorgeous for his own good. He's been tormenting me since the moment we met, and now, thanks to some ancient ritual, we're betrothed. He acts like h...
