What's Up, Readers!!

Welcome to Quills and Pages and today I will be reviewing Divine Infection Book 1 in the Bloodborne Melodies Series written by Nova B. Quinn. I am very honored that I was chosen to read the advanced reader copy of the book. So, let's start the review.

BLURB

"Do you trust me?"

Danica Gray thought she had met the love of her life, until she caught him doing something unforgivable. Left without answers for two years after his disappearance, she was left heartbroken and numb. Then, he reappears, very much alive. But things are not as they seem. Something’s different about him. Something dark and twisted. As their reunion unfolds, ominous events begin to occur. Fortunately, the lead singer of a metal band she met only hours earlier steps in to save the day. Secrets run deep, and only the surface has been scratched. We are led down a path of sex, blood, and rock ‘n’ roll, culminating in a bloody encore. Enjoy the show! Mind your step around the body parts and blood before exiting the concert.

MY REVIEW
First of all, thank you to Nova B. Quinn for providing me with the arc copy. I was very intrigued by the love triangle aspect. I started reading the book. It was a great start and then it got a bit slow and then it got better towards the end.....it got feral towards the end 😅

The story starts with Danica and Oliver. An accident happened, and Oliver disappeared. It's been three years, and Danica is in depression and barely living. No is basically walking dead because of Oliver's sudden disappearance. She goes to a rock concert and meets a handsome rockstar, Chris, and BAM!!!! There is a fatal attraction between them. She denies it, and he pursues her. It was a very hot tug-of-war.

There are supernatural elements involved and things get dangerous as we proceed in the story. Although Oli was a major part of Danica's past, he doesn't appear in most of the book. There is a love triangle but this first book was actually setting up the base for Danica and Chris.

As I said earlier the book got slow in the middle because there were just Danica and Chris and Danica kept trying to refuse him was very frustrating. I got annoyed with her on one or 2 occasions but as soon as they move forward from that stage things get more dangerous and interesting. There are ruthless vampire gods, ancient prophecies, sinister elements, and some very weird situations and in the midst of all this, there is this trio; Danica, Chris, and Oliver.

On the whole, the book is a 5-star read. On some occasions, it literally gave off the vampire diaries vibe.....argh......I want to watch TVD again after reading this. But I don't have time as I have to read a lot. So, here I am ranting to get it off my mind. I hope you like the review. I highly recommend this book. Go read it. links are given below.

A Critical Lens on 'Hunting Adeline' by H.D. Carlton: Exploring the Disturbing Themes | A Review

I kept delaying writing the review because I had to remember it and didn't want to do that. This 2nd book of Cat and Mouse duet is the story of a human trafficking survivor. This book is a huge  TRIGGER WARNING . Kindly proceed with caution. I even got traumatized after reading it. So to explain the synopsis; Adeline (the main character) got kidnapped at the end of the first book and sold to some people who groomed her for some very rich and powerful clients.  Almost half of the book is based on Adeline surviving the worst situations possible for a woman. Adeline had one advantage someone was fervently searching for her, and eventually, Zade managed to rescue her after four agonizing months. The scene when Zade finds her and she just could not believe it. She crumbled to her knees thinking she was hallucinating. After Zade brings her home she struggles so hard to process her trauma. She learns to fight to take control of her life. She gets close to her mother. She hates h...

A half-fae in a school of highblood vampires? That's a recipe for torment. I'm Medra Pendragon—last of the dragon riders, or so they tell me. Funny thing is, there are no dragons left. Not a single one. But somehow, that hasn't stopped the vampires from deciding I'm worth capturing. Now I'm stuck at Bloodwing Academy, where the highbloods run everything and blightborn like me? We're just blood in their veins, pawns in their games. But that's not even the worst part. Enter Blake Drakharrow. Cold, arrogant, and way too gorgeous for his own good. He's been tormenting me since the moment we met, and now, thanks to some ancient ritual, we're betrothed. He acts like h...

What's Up, Readers!! Welcome to Quills and Pages. I finally got myself to sit down to write this review for the second book of Bloodwing Academy series. Today is a good day because it's cloudy and windy with a chance of slight rain....and nothing puts my mood better than a chance of rain and wind. anyway let's get started!! BLURB At Bloodwing Academy, blood is currency, but a dragon's legacy is priceless–and as dangerous as fire. I thought surviving my first year in Bloodwing's deadly halls would be enough. I was wrong. I accidentally woke a dragon–a creature of myth, of death, of fire. Now every highblood house wants control over me and the dragon's legacy I carry. But here's the I have no control. I'm bluffing my way through every encounter, trying to keep everyone from realizing that I'm not the one pulling the dragon's strings. And then there's Blake Drakharrow. I thought he was on my side, that I might even be able to trust him. But he b...
