Powerless by Lauren Roberts | Why It Fails to Impress!!

Hi there!!!! Welcome to Quills and Pages. This is Quills and today I will review one of the booktok viral books; Powerless by Lauren Roberts. I was forced to purchase this book because I kept hearing about how great and awesome that book is, how amazing the enemies to lovers trope is in this book. So, prepare to be amazed while I ripped apart this absolutely loss of potential. Blurb She is the very thing he’s spent his whole life hunting. He is the very thing she’s spent her whole life pretending to be . House of the Dragon Episode 2 Rhaenyra the Cruel | A Review and Key Takeaways

Rhaenyra the Cruel After Blood and Cheese incident there is chaos everywhere in king's landing and Dragonstone. Aegon is angry, Queen  Helaena  is in grief, Aemond is planning.  Rhaenyra  finds out that Daemon ordered the hit and she started blaming him that he put her position in jeopardy.  Ser Criston Cole  is always the annoying airhead blaming others for his stupidity MY REVIEW King's Landing There is a funeral organized for Prince  Jaehaerys Targaryen (Son of Aegon the second). The scene was phenomenal with awesome acting from Phia Saban as Queen  Helaena Aegon has hanged the Rat Catchers and displayed their bodies on the wall which made Otto Hightower angry because ever the political he thought it was an unwise move. So he yells at Aegon, some heated words are exchanged and finally the truth comes out....King Viserys was right abut Aegon. Aegon said he made me king and Otto replies "Is that what you think"; which  means Otto knew that king has never changed his

Blood and Ruin Book 1 by Rumer Hale | A Review

Hi there!!!! Welcome to Quills and Pages; your go to blog to great reads. This is Quills and I am back with another great book Blood and Ruin written by Rumer Hale . This is the first book in the series of same name Blood and Ruin . This is kind of dark horror book with a great edgy plot, a psycho unhinged villain and an amazing sci-fi story line set in modern day New York. Blurb Six years ago, my world was ripped from under me, and I was taken to Cardinal Three. A place where pain has been my endless companion. Witches, demons, shifters and humans all live under one rule. King's. What he says goes. So, trying to get the hell out of here hasn’t been easy. No one leaves without his permission. In fact, no one leaves at all...That is, alive. But I have a plan. One chance to get out of this nightmare once and for all. One month is all I need. One month to stay off King's radar and get the last few items needed for the spell I’ve been working on. Shouldn’t be that hard...right? But

The Awakening | Zodiac Academy Series written by Caroline Peckham and Suzanne Valenti | A Book Review

Alright, here I am, sharing my thoughts on the first book The Awakening from Zodiac Academy series written by Caroline Peckham and Susanne Valenti . I decided to start reviewing this series as it falls under the 'enemies to lovers ' and 'bullies romance' genres, which are right up my alley. I'm a sucker for this type of book and I am always on the hunt for such books. Someone made a video of this book on TikTok and I was like I had to read it. So, I began reading the book and I fell into a rabbit hole of Magic Academy, hot assholes, and alternative Fae world. It felt like diving into a more mature version of Harry Potter. Needless to say, I absolutely loved this first installment. My Review of Gold Book 5 of the Plated Prisoner Series written by Raven Kennedy

I am having a mixed feeling right now. I just finished reading this 5th book in the series and I am......well, I don't know what I feel. This book was an emotional rollercoaster. It made me feel things.....things I have long forgotten....things people write books about.....I am rambling again but this is my mental state at this point....this is all due to Raven Kennedy and her books. I found this book series from booktok last year. It was not very popular but someone recommended reading it and when I read the series......omg 🤌🤌. The book is a retelling of King Midas and his golden touch but there is a twist in this book.....King Midas is a fraud in this book and he is keeping a girl prisoner who has the golden touch.   Here is the synopsis;  "Find me in another life. Find me in them all." Every end is also a beginning. I thought I was going to die, and would have if it weren’t for Slade. The only way he could save me was to open a rip between worlds. The only way for me

Where is Molly by H.D Carlton | A Review

Where is Molly is a stand alone book written by H.D Carlton. It is set in the Universe of Haunting Adeline. The story revolves around Molly...the girl we found in Hunting Adeline. Her diary was founded by Adeline under the floor and us readers always wanted to know if she succeeded in running away from that awful place.  Blurb A spinoff of the Cat & Mouse Duet... “Molly Devereaux has been missing for more than two weeks, and police are still searching for the girl who seemed to vanish out of thin air. The world still wants to know... Where's Molly?” In my dreams, I never escaped the Oregon woods. Life after death isn't easy to accept, especially when I still feel like a ghost. Now, I live deep in the mountains of Montana—the paradigm of beauty. But they are also the home of horrors. Horrors that I only unleash at night. When my pigs are allowed to feast. It is strongly recommended to read Haunting Adeline and Hunting Adeline before reading Where's Molly. Important No

Lightlark by Alex Aster | A Book Review

A Fellow booktoker recommended me this book. She talks about it all the time and makes really catchy videos featuring this Duology. I got interested and purchased this book. Lightlark is the first book in the series written by Alex Aster. I got to know some pretty interesting facts about the Author and how this book was published. You should learn it too this is not my story to tell 😅. Anyhow I started reading this book in March and finished it one week. Somehow I got late in writing and reviewed all the books I read in March. So now I am starting again. This is the brief of this book on Goodreads; Welcome to the Centennial. Every 100 years, the island of Lightlark appears to host the Centennial, a deadly game that only the rulers of six realms are invited to play. The invitation is a summons—a call to embrace victory and ruin, baubles and blood. The Centennial offers the six rulers one final chance to break the curses that have plagued their realms for centuries. Each ruler has somet

A Curse for True Love by Stephanie Garber | A Book Review

This is the third book in the Once Upon a Broken Heart series . I would say a good conclusion to the series. I was not expecting things to happen in this book but it fills with twists and turns. this is the description of this book; Two villains, one girl, and a deadly battle for happily ever after. Evangeline Fox ventured to the Magnificent North in search of her happy ending, and it seems as if she has it. She’s married to a handsome prince and lives in a legendary castle. But Evangeline has no idea of the devastating price she’s paid for this fairytale. She doesn’t know what she has lost, and her husband is determined to make sure she never finds out . . . but first he must kill Jacks, the Prince of Hearts. Blood will be shed, hearts will be stolen, and true love will be put to the test in A Curse for True Love, the breathlessly anticipated conclusion to the Once Upon A Broken Heart trilogy.
